Medfield Boosters Request Procedures

Open and
complete a Grant Request Form click on link at the top of this page or a Friendly’s Night Request Form (for an opportunity to earn up to $300 based on efforts and participation by members of a school group).

Deliver the request form to a Co-President (email or Boosters Mail Box) by the last Wednesday of the month.
Deadline
dates for ’09-’10 are: 9/30/09; 10/28/09; 11/25/09; 12/23/09; 1/27/10; 2/24/10; 3/31/10; 4/28/10
The Co-Presidents present the request at the monthly General Board meetings (held on the first Wednesday of each month September
- May) in the LMC at 7:00pm. Applicant may attend the meeting to explain the request.
Requests appropriate
for support meet the following criteria:
* Promotes positive activity and school spirit
* Provides
opportunity for positive experience by participating students
* Awards or honors exceptional performance
* Is consistent with the goals of Boosters organization
* Follows purposes and basic policies adopted by
MHS Boosters
* Ideally, impacts a significant portion of the student body
· General membership of the Corporation has the right to reject a request
if it is not consistent with the purposes and basic policies or criteria as outlined above and adopted by the Corporation.
Grants that have not been approved in the past include items such as:
*Transportation
Costs (Boosters cannot provide transportation for all student activities, so they avoid covering it for selected groups)
* Programs that are not sponsored or promoted by the school administration
· After discussion, a vote is taken. A simple majority
of the General Membership of the Corporation present is required to approve the request.
· Results
of the vote will be communicated to the applicant. If the grant is approved, an invoice or receipt must then be delivered
to the Treasurer, and payment will be made. If a Friendly’s Night is approved, the adult Sponsor will work with
the Boosters Board to finalize dates/expectations for the event.
